    Torreón massacreSecret Societies & Power

    The revolutionary agitator Jesús C. Flores delivers a speech inciting the crowd against the Chinese, charging that they control the gardening and grocery trades, take jobs from Mexican women, and send too much money back to China. The “takeover” conspiracy is now open incitement to violence.

    Ouvéa cave massacreGovernment & Intelligence

    At dawn, French forces launch Operation Victor, storming the cave with roughly seventy commandos and special police. In the roughly hour-long assault two soldiers, Régis Pedrazza and Jean-Yves Véron, and 19 Kanak militants are killed. The hostages are freed unharmed.

    Three eight-year-old boys, Christopher Byers, Steve Branch, and Michael Moore, fail to return home in West Memphis, Arkansas. Their families report them missing and a search begins.
