The fine print

Privacy policy

Effective July 13, 2026

The Conspiratory (“we,” “us”) publishes a sourced encyclopedia of conspiracy theories at theconspiratory.com. This policy explains what information is collected when you visit, how it is used, and the choices you have. We aim to collect as little as possible.

Information we collect

You can read the site without creating an account, and we do not ask you for personal details to browse. Like almost all websites, our hosting servers automatically record standard technical log data (such as your IP address, browser type, and the pages requested) to keep the site running, secure, and reliable. If you choose to submit a correction or tip through a feedback form on a case file, we receive whatever you write in it so we can act on it.

Cookies and advertising

We use third-party advertising, including Google AdSense, to help support the site. These services use cookies and similar technologies to serve and measure ads.

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
  • Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
  • Third-party vendors and ad networks may also use cookies to serve ads on this site.

You can learn more about how Google uses information from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

Your choices

You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info/choices. Most web browsers also let you block or delete cookies through their settings, though some parts of sites may not work as intended without them.

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you are shown a consent message through a Google-certified consent management platform, where you can accept or decline personalized advertising before ads are served, and you have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal data. If you are a California resident, you may exercise the rights granted under the California Consumer Privacy Act, including the right to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information as those terms are defined by law.

Children's privacy

This site is intended for a general adult audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site or the services it relies on change. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page.

Contact

Questions about this policy, or a request about your data, can be sent through the feedback form at the bottom of any case file, which reaches a person.
