TASS and Pravda announce the 'discovery' of a 'terrorist group of doctors.' Nine physicians are named, most of them Jewish; they are accused of poisoning Zhdanov and Shcherbakov and plotting to kill Soviet leaders on behalf of American and British intelligence and the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee. The press demands vigilance against hidden 'enemies' and 'spies.'
