MH370 departs Kuala Lumpur at 00:42 local time for Beijing. At 01:19 the cockpit signs off to Malaysian controllers with 'Good night, Malaysian three seven zero'; about two minutes later, near waypoint IGARI over the South China Sea at the handoff to Vietnamese airspace, the transponder stops and the aircraft vanishes from secondary radar.
